Wood, Phyllis A.
Phyllis A. Wood, 77, of Olin, Iowa, died Monday, July 18, 2011, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. A celebration of her life service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 21, at Lahey Funeral Home in Olin. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Olin Cemetery.
Phyllis Ann Harding was born Dec. 29, 1933, in Baldwin, Iowa, the daughter of Edward and Etta (Downer) Harding. She married Frank O. Wood Sr. on August 20, 1962, at Mount Carroll, lll., he preceded her in death in 2000. She worked at Kmart in Cedar Rapids for 17 years.
Phyllis is survived by her eight children, Marcia (Dana Thomas) Hunter of Anamosa, Leonard (Mary) Ritzman of Monticello, John (Mary) Ritzman, Mark Ritzman and Cindy (Gordon) Vogel, all of Cedar Rapids, Brenda (Chad) Cleveland of Laurens, Frank (Summer) Wood Jr. of Olin, and Janet (Francis) Thomas of Anamosa; her grandchildren, Rachael, Justin, Katie, Emily, Daniel and Monique Ritzman, Katie Lee, Monica Engelbart, Ellen Halder, Adam Vogel, Megan, Melissa, William and Matthew Cleveland, Hilary and Haylie Wood, Jewel Thomas, Jennifer Moyer, Francis Jr., and Joy Thomas; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Virginia Harding of Florida and Delores Harding of Clinton; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a grandson, Aaron Ritzman; two granddaughters, Jennifer and Jamie Paup; and 11 brothers and sisters.
