Mabel A. Wood, 90, of Washington, Iowa, formerly of Ainsworth, Iowa, died on Monday, Oct. 29, 2018, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.
Celebration of Life services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, 2018, at Jones & Eden Funeral Home in Washington with Pastor Jason Collier officiating. Calling hours will begin 4 p.m. Saturday at Jones & Eden Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment will take place at Oregon Township Cemetery in Ainsworth, Iowa.
A memorial has been established for the Ainsworth Community Church or the Ainsworth Opera House. Online condolences may be sent for Mabel's family through the web at www.jonesfh.com.
She is survived by her daughter, Julie Thoemke of Arvada, Colo.; daughter, Nancy Wood of Orlando, Fla.; son, Michael Wood of Ainsworth, Iowa; four grandchildren: Capt. Chad Michael Thoemke and wife Candy Marie of Jacksonville, Fla., Brad William Thoemke and wife Eva Baca Thoemke of Lakewood, Colo., Joseph Wesley Thoemke and wife Debbie of San Antonio, Texas, and Jennifer Elizabeth Thoemke of Olympia, Wash.; and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Don Droll; one sister, Marilyn Lewis; and one aunt, Geraldine Idle, as well as many nieces and nephews.
