Wood, Ronald
Ronald Wood, 78, of Martelle, died Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 6, at Goettsch Funeral Home in Anamosa. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Surviving are his wife, Edna; a son, Clark (Vicky Muller) Wood of Martelle; a daughter, Shauna (Dr. Adrian) Holm of Iowa City; a daughter from his first wife, Thressa Unruh of Martelle; a sister, Erma Harris of Mount Ayr, Iowa; three brothers, Thomas Campbell of South Carolina, James and Jerry Campbell of Nebraska; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Alberta; and two brothers, Burr Wood and special brother Pete who raised Ronald.
Ronald Edward Wood was born Oct. 20, 1931, in Mount Ayr, Iowa, the son of Edward and Edna Potter Wood. Ronald attended school in Stanwood, Iowa. Ronald served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. On Dec. 28, 1969, Ronald and Edna Barnett were united in marriage in Cantril, Iowa. Ronald owned and operated Ron's Electric for more than 40 years. He was a Boy Scout leader, Past Master of the Masonic Lodge in Olin and Past Patron of the Order of Amaranth in Cedar Rapids. He enjoyed raising horses from Quarter and Belgian horses to Miniature horses.
He will be missed dearly by those closest to him.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Anamosa Activities and Athletic Department.
