JOHN H. "HANK" EVERTS
Cedar Rapids
John H. "Hank" Everts, 92, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2017, at Northbrook Manor. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include three daughters, Shelley Glawe, Sharon Wilcox and Colleen Everts; three granddaughters; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, a great- grandson and great-great-grandson.
Hank was born Jan. 25, 1925, in Marshalltown, the son of Percy and Grace Holt Everts. Hank married Phyllis A. Emerson on Feb. 11, 1951, in Marshalltown. Phyllis passed away in 2001.
He was a member of the VFW and American Legion and proudly served in the Air Force during World War II.
The family would like to give a heartfelt thank-you for the care Hank was given by the staff at Northbrook, where he resided since 2005.
