Rein, Barbara Helen Pearson

Barbara Helen Pearson Rein, 76, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at hospice in Colorado Springs, Colo., after a courageous 11-year battle with colon cancer. A celebration of life was held Monday, July 12, at Our Savior Church in Colorado Springs. Arrangements were under the direction of Swan-Law Funeral Directors, Colorado Springs, Colo.

Surviving are children, Laura Anne More, Jennifer L. Fenninger and Steven R. Chesmore; grandchildren, Alicia Hassinger, Madison Fenninger, Kreider Fenninger, Chris More and Hailey Lasha; great-granddaughter, Halle Hassinger; brother, James A. Pearson, Lineville, Iowa; and sister, Nancy Pearson Ketchum, Cedar Rapids.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Leland Rein in 2001; brother, Ronnie Pearson in 2000; sister, Ethel Pearson Hurst in 2009; and her parents in 1986.

Barbara was born to Herbert H. and Helen G. Pearson on March 16, 1934, in Cedar Rapids. She graduated from Franklin High in 1951. She moved to Phoenix, then Greeley, Colo., and Amarillo, Texas and lived in Colorado Springs for the past 25 years.

A memorial fund has been established in Barbara's memory.
