Parsons, Betty L.
Betty L. Parsons, 68, of Shueyville, died Saturday, Aug. 1, 2009, in Manor Care Health Services, Cedar Rapids. Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Shueyville United Methodist Church, by the Rev. Sheryll Untiedt. Visitation: 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church before the service. Burial: Linwood Park Cemetery, Boone. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her son, Brad Parsons of Swisher; brother, Donald Ray of Melrose; and sisters, Mabel (John) Toepfer of Madrid and Gladys Groomes of Oakdale, Calif.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William; brother, Floyd Ray; and sister, Dorothy Ricke.
Born Jan. 25, 1941, in Hamilton County, Betty was the daughter of Lloyd and Mildred (Craven) Ray. On March 11, 1961, she was united in marriage to William Parsons in Boone. He died Jan. 14, 2001. Betty attended the Shueyville United Methodist Church and enjoyed reading.
