RAYMOND "SKIP" BLACKWELL

Raymond "Skip" Leland Blackwell, 73, of Cedar Rapids, peacefully passed away May 4, 2016. A visitation reception will be held at Cedar Memorial on Monday, May 9, from 2 to 7 p.m.
He is survived by his daughters, Kelly Taylor of Pella, Wendy (Dan) Sandersfeld of Tiffin and Jill (Dan) Knight of North Liberty; and six grandchildren, Emily, Adrian, Evelyn, Graham, Lydia and Leah.
A resident of Cedar Rapids for the majority of his life, Skip was employed by Rockwell Goss from 1976 to 2001, Nissen Corp. from 1967 to 1975, and during his earlier years, he worked at the Roosevelt Hotel and held various mechanic jobs.
Skip was an avid stock car racing fan who enjoyed working on cars and traveling.
He is fondly remembered for showering his family members with Peanuts Gang cards for every occasion, along with his ability to remember names and faces. He also enjoyed striking up conversations with others, and always had entertaining stories and memories to share.
