Bradenton, Fla.
Roger E. Higgins, 76, of Bradenton, Fla., passed away April 12, 2016, at Tidewell Hospice. Cremation has been accorded and graveside services are 11 a.m. Saturday, June 11, at Peniel Cemetery, rural Joy, Ill.
Memorials may be made to the Roger Higgins Scholarship Fund.
Fippinger Funeral Home, Aledo, Ill., is in charge of arrangements.

He was born Jan. 25, 1940, in Alexis, Ill., to Charles E. and Doris (Kenney) Higgins. Roger served in the U.S. Army Reserves and Iowa National Guard.
Roger was employed at Pekin Insurance Co. for 30 years, retiring as district claims manager in 2001.
He was a past president of the Cedar Rapids Adjusters Association and Sunrise Optimist Club and a member of American Legion Post 24.
Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Marilyn; daughters, Lisa Higgins of Vail, Ariz., and Sherie (Edwin) Zoss of Ankeny, Iowa; grandchildren, Alexandria and Ethan Charlwood and Samantha and Max Zoss; and brothers, Dave and Doug.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Dereth Brokaw; two brothers, Dale and Danny; and a great-nephew, Ethan.
