Martin, Helen M.
Helen M. Martin, 97, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at Manor Care, Cedar Rapids. A memorial service celebrating Helen's life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Dave Higdon officiating. Inurnment will be in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include her daughter, Jean (Steve) Cram of Cedar Rapids; granddaughter, Sarah (Ben) Driscoll of Cedar Rapids; grandson, Martin (Katie) Cram of Cedar Rapids; great-granddaughter, Kendall Cram; and cousin, Joan Bek of Monticello.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, David in 2001.
Helen Margaret Wheeless was born Sept. 18, 1915, in Hopkinton, Iowa, the daughter of Perry and Ella (Campbell) Wheeless. On June 12, 1943, she married David Martin in Hollywood, Calif. Helen was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church, was a member of a book club, enjoyed reading, painting with oil and water based colors and antiquing.
