Wood, David Albert

David Albert Wood, 56, of Anamosa, died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013, at his home. Visitation will be 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, at Goettsch Funeral Home in Anamosa. Private family burial will take place at a later date.

Surviving are his children, Amber Wood of Anamosa, Tabitha Wood of Anamosa, Kyle Wood of Marquette, Mich., and Kirsten (Aaron) Gobert of Skandia, Mich.; his mother, Ruth Wood of Merril, Wis.; two grandchildren, Aaliyah Jane Wood and Jaxon Gobert; two brothers, Lyle (Cindy) Wood of Merril, Wis., and Mark (Monica) Wood of Elko, Minn.; and family friend, Janie (Dustin) Hiot of Tower, N.D.

He was preceded in death by his father, George; and son, Kristopher David.

David was born Feb. 15, 1957, in Oshkosh, Wis., the son of George and Ruth Miller Wood. David served his country in the United States Air Force. Upon retiring, David went to work for T & K Roofing in Ely, Iowa.

He enjoyed bow hunting, attending some of the local bands shows, singing karaoke and the company of his dog, Saddie. But the thing he treasured most was the time he was given to spend with his children.

He will be missed dearly by those closest to him.
