Derynck, Irene A.
Irene A. Derynck, 87, of Clarence, died Monday, May 17, 2010 in St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Trinity Lutheran Church, Lowden, with the Rev. Victor Young officiating. Burial: Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Chapman Funeral Home, Clarence.
Survivors include three sons, Robert (Sue) of Athol, Mass., David (Nancy) of Cedar Rapids and Randy (Jade) of Clarence; two daughters, Deanna (Greg) Jobe of Marion and Sandy (David) Smith of Abilene, Texas; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Silven; and son, Glen.
Irene was born Nov. 29, 1922, in Lowden, Iowa, to Julius and Ranelda Theesfeld Gottschalk, She married Silven Derynck on Nov. 19, 1939 in Dewitt. He died in 2001.
