Barbara E. Gardner-Roling, 70, passed away peacefully Friday, Nov. 9, 2018.
A private celebration of Barbara's life will be held by the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
Barbara was born Jan. 11, 1948, in Omaha, Neb., the daughter of David and Julia Miller Gardner. She was a graduate of Iowa City High School and the University College of Cosmetology. Barbara lived in Hawaii from 1971 to 1972.
On July 4, 1989, Barbara married Loyd Roling.
Barbara owned and operated FACES Salon on Gilbert Court in Iowa City from 1975 to 2009. In 2002, Barbara and her husband began raising old English sheep dogs. They also had many alpacas that they lovingly cared for on their property.
The family extends their appreciation to everyone for their calls and prayers during Barbara's illness.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Loyd; three sisters, Cheryl (Mike) Fulton of Normal, Ill., Janet (Turk) Regennitter of Ainsworth, and Julia Lee Gardner of Davenport; her brother, David R. (Anne) Gardner of Seminole, Fla.; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
