Northeast Iowa and northern Illinois saw between 1 and 3 inches of snow early Saturday morning according to the National Weather Service. Roads and sidewalks are expected to be slick and icy as a result.
Highs will be in the 30s for the remainder of the day, and the National Weather Service expects additional snow mixed with rain this afternoon south of Interstate 80. Accumulation in those areas should be an inch or less. Northern counties shouldn't expect any additional precipitation.
Southeast Iowa should expect more light snow, according to the National Weather Service, but that also will see accumulation of an inch or less. With temperatures falling into the upper 20s, wet roads could be icy and snow covered this evening and tonight.
Snow removal companies handle clearing out sidewalks and driveways, sometimes before you even wake up. (Dreamstime)
