Carne, Julia
CEDAR RAPIDS - Julia Carne, 91, of Keystone Place, died Friday, Oct. 8, 2010, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha after a short illness. Per Julia's request there will be no visitation or service. Iowa Cremation is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by her husband, Russel of Cedar Rapids; and three nephews, James, John and Jerry Weremy, all of Omaha, Neb.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Alex.
Julia was born Dec. 2, 1918, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Parafen and Anna Weremy. She graduated from McKinley High School in 1936. Julia married Russel Carne on Oct. 24, 1942, in St. Louis, Mo. She was past president of the Cedar Rapids Credit Bureau. Julia worked at McGladrey-Pullen & Co. as a bookkeeper and retired from there after many years of service.
Memorial donations may be given to the charity of the donor's choice.
