Team’s shirts were in poor taste

To the editor:
Several months ago, Feb. 12, 13 and 14, I was a spectator at the liberal arts champion swimming and diving meet at Coe College.
As I sat down I was appalled to see some of the competitors wearing shirts with the letters LSD on them all three days.
They could have spelled out the name followed by the letters S and D or the name of the college with the letter L followed by the words swimming and diving.
Come on. Where is the coach, athletic director or the college itself? And, if they did condone it, shame on them.
Was it cute? No, it was disgusting.
