Julia M. Anderson, 80, died Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Committal services will be at a later date at Cedar Park Cemetery in Riverdale, Ill. Arrange-ments are with Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
Julia was born Feb. 12, 1935, in Harvey, Ill. Julia received her bachelor's degree from Purdue University, her master's from the University of Washington and her Ph.D. from the Illinois Institute of Technology.
Julia was a research scientist at the University of Iowa.
She is survived by nieces and nephews.
