Linda R. Tronvold, 75, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, March 11, 2017, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Per Linda's request, the casket will be closed.
Survivors include a daughter, Amy (Allan) Schuttloffel, and a son, Jeffrey (Tammy) Tronvold, both of Cedar Rapids. She also is survived by six grandchildren, Racheal, Allyson, Allana, Michael, Christopher and Carissa; and her dog, Charlie.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Linda was born Feb. 18, 1942, in Sioux City, the daughter of Raynor and Vivian Birdsall. She graduated from East High School in Sioux City and attended Morningside College. Linda married Carlton Tronvold on Dec. 9, 1961, in Sioux City. They later were divorced.
Linda worked at the Des Moines Statehouse as an administrative assistant for several years. She later was employed at C.M.F.&Z. Ad Agency from 1982 to 1994 as an art coordinator. Linda also was a wedding coordinator and interior decorator and did floral design.
Linda was a member of First Lutheran Church, Junior League, the Jaycees and several local bridge and coffee groups. She was a Brownie leader. She did volunteer work for the Cedar Rapids Symphony and Cedar Rapids Museum of Art.
Linda was a very gifted artist, and had a great love of all animals. She did illustrations for several local magazines and cookbooks, as well as wrote poetry.
Linda was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend, whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Critter Crusaders.
