Dunkel, Matt
Matt Dunkel, 40, of Marion, died Saturday, March 24, 2012, from injuries received in a motor vehicle accident. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 28, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Anamosa, with interment in the Norwich Cemetery, Martelle. Pastor Bill Nielsen will officiate at the services. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
Surviving are two children, Brianna and Nicholas Dunkel of Marion; his parents, Marilyn (Arlen) Holcomb of Martelle and Lyle (MaryAnne) Dunkel of Anamosa; his special friend, Tami Mysak of Springville; two sisters, Jennifer (Jeff) Homewood of Aurora, Colo., and their family, Blake and Grace, and Heather (Brian) Hodges of Sammamish, Wash., and their family Hunter, Haiden, Bryson and Brady; and a brother-in-law, Kirk Brunscheen of Cedar Rapids and his family, Kirk Jr., Cedric and Logan.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Lori Brunscheen in 2006.
Matthew Lyle Dunkel was born Feb 24, 1972, at Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was the son of Lyle and Marilyn Nost Dunkel. Matt graduated from the Anamosa Community Schools in 1990. He then attended Kirkwood College. Matt had been employed at Schermann's Implement in Monticello and Delaney Concrete Construction in Marion. He was currently employed by the City of Marion as a mechanic in the Public Works Department.
Matt enjoyed racing and NASCAR his Harley motorcycle and golf. Matt will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
