BETTY JEAN (LOCHNER) ROSS

Betty Jean (Lochner) Ross, 91, of Marion, passed away Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016, at Willow Gardens Care Center in Marion. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Funeral service: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, at the funeral home with visitation one hour before the service. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, Frank; her children, Bill (Linda) Ross of Whittier, Judy Hutchins of Marion and Bob (Nurdan) Ross of Las Vegas, Nev.; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.
Betty was born Oct. 16, 1924, to Edward and Blanch (Tudeen) Lochner in Marion, Iowa. After graduating high school, she went to beauty school and became a cosmetologist. She married Frank Ross on Nov. 7, 1942, and started her own hair salon called Ross' Beauty Shop in Marion. Betty retired from her salon in 1969. She was a past member of Order Eastern Star No. 183.
