RONALD HAROLD HUMMER JR.
Oxford
Ronald Harold Hummer Jr., formerly of Oxford, Iowa, passed away on Jan. 1, 2021, after a short illness.
Ronald was born Dec. 7, 1952, to Joan (Villhauer) and Buck Hummer.
Ron graduated from Clear Creek High School in 1971. He started truck driving in the late 1960s for his father, Buck who owned and operated Buck Hummer Trucking in Oxford. He married Marcia Hofmann on Dec. 30, 1970, and they raised three children together. Ron started his
own trucking business R.H. Hummer Jr. Inc., which he ran successfully for the past 38 years.
His pastimes included going to truck auctions, antiquing, traveling and going to movies.
Ron is survived by his special friend, Deb Doty; his sons, Tuffy (Shannon) Hummer, Dan (Melissa) Hummer and Tyler Hummer; his daughter, Stephanie (Michael) Lynch; his mother, Joan Hummer; his brother, Donald (Dru) Hummer; his sister, Connie (Tony) Steckly; many wonderful grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and his former wife, Marcia Hofmann.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ronold (Buck) Hummer; and brother, John Hummer.
Family graveside services will be held at a later date, with burial at the Oxford.
Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to be announced.
