Trumen S. Hanson, 76, passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at Regional Medical Center, Manchester. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 9, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Central City. Funeral: 11 a.m. Friday, June 10, at First United Methodist Church, Central City, conducted by Pastor Josh Hansen. Inurnment will be at Mount Clark Cemetery, Central City, at a later date.
Trumen is survived by his wife, Donna; daughters, Terri (Patrick) Smith of Cedar Falls and Lisa (Carl) Gibbs of Anamosa; granddaughter, Latisha Sand, of whom he and his wife were guardians; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Ruth Ann Wood and Carol (Larry) Kramer, both of Central City.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Rodney Hanson; and two brothers, Lesley and Charles.
Trumen was born April 25, 1940, in Ostrander, Minn., the son of Helmer and Irene (Thompson) Hanson. He graduated from Central City High School in 1959 and then served in the U.S. Army from September 1957 to September 1960. On Feb. 14, 1961, he married Donna L. Power in Central City. Trumen worked in the field tiling business and as a semi driver for 28 years. He also was a hobby farmer.
He enjoyed spending time with all his grandchildren. He loved to fish, gamble, play cards with the guys in Troy Mills, being in the fields in his tractor and spoiling his wife of 55 years.
A memorial fund has been established in Trumen's memory.
