Dighton, 'Deano' Harley LaDean
“Deano” Harley LaDean Dighton, 73, of Mesa, Ariz., formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Jan. 16, 2012, in Mesa. A celebration of Deano's life will be held Feb. 11 at Final Round Bar & Grill, 5030 South Mill, Tempe, Ariz., from noon to 4 p.m.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara; children, Becky (Roger) Mouchka, Sherry (Mike) Rodenkirk, Dean (Rhonda) Dighton, Jeff (Helene) Schaefer, Todd (Carol) Schaefer and Cal (Holly) Schaefer; brother, Mike (Jeannie) Dighton; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father and stepfather.
Deano and his wife, Barbara, were married for 33 years.
He was a member of the Carpenters Union in Iowa for over 30 years, the Cedar Boat Club and the Cedar Valley Street Rodders.
In 1985, Deano and Barbara moved to Arizona. He owned and operated Double D Wood Treatments and loved to restore street rods. He was a member of the Arizona Street Rodders.
