Donald Joseph "Joe" Dighton, 71, of Keokuk, formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2019, at Fort Madison Community Hospital. A visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2019, at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Memorial Service will start at 3 p.m. after visitation. Inurnment will take place after service.
Donald Joseph Dighton was born Aug. 11, 1947, in Iowa City, the son of Vernon Donald and Ethel L. (Peterson) Dighton. He was united in marriage to Carol Ann Adams on Dec. 5, 1966, in Cedar Rapids. Joe enjoyed fishing, playing cards, boating, being outdoors and loved B.S.'n with people, and most of all loved spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Kenny Peterson and Strad Lee Dighton; and two sisters, Verna Bruner and Linda Dighton.
Left to cherish Joe's memories are his wife, Carol Dighton of Keokuk; daughter, JoAnn (Joshua) Barker of Hartford, Ill.; granddaughter, Samantha (Brian) Fillingim of Wood River, Ill.; two sisters, Mary (Rick) Randall of Cedar Rapids and Joyce (Bob) Slaymaker of Hiawatha.
