Andersen, Glen 'Andy'
Glen “Andy” Andersen, 82, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died on Jan. 15, 2013, in Casa Grande, Ariz.
Mr. Andersen was born on March 10, 1930. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He married Carol Lewis on Feb. 10, 1957. He worked at Penford Products Co. for 35 years. He moved to Casa Grande in November 2008 to be closer to his daughter and family. He loved to hunt, fish, work with wood, and spend time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Carol; three daughters, Sheryl Benning of Casa Grande, Laurie Lanning of Venice, Fla., and Julie Andersen of Hiawatha, Iowa; son-in-law, Tom Benning of Casa Grande; two brothers, Clifford and Howard Andersen of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Morris and Leila Andersen; son, Kevin Andersen; sister, Delores Hull; and a brother, Merlyn Andersen.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013, at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Inurnment will be in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
