Bill B. McKibbin, 89, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, March 1, 2015, at Mercy Medical Center. Funeral services, with Masonic rites: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Our Savior Lutheran Church. The Rev. Phil Jorgensen will officiate. Burial, with military rites: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Survivors include his wife, C. Ramona; a son, Mark (Bonnie) of Marion; a daughter, Karen (Ken) Kaiser of Cedar Rapids; and a sister, Betty of California. He also is survived by three grandchildren, Keith, Nathan and Travis; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; nine brothers and sisters; and a granddaughter, Melissa.
Bill was born Aug. 30, 1925, in Nevada, Iowa, the son of Cass and Ella Meyers McKibbin. He married C. Ramona Howen on June 21, 1947, in Atchison, Kan. Bill served in the Navy during World War II and went on an Honor Flight in 2010.
Bill worked in the sliced bacon department at Wilson & Co. and retired from there after more than 25 years of service.
Bill was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, Marion American Legion Post 289 and a 50-year member of Mount Hermon Masonic Lodge.
He enjoyed gardening, yard work, playing shuffle-board, working puzzles, riding his bike and especially the time spent with his beloved family.
His memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
Memorial donations may be given to a charity of the donor's choice.
