Elaine Enid Postel, 83, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 26, after a brief illness.
Elaine was born July 30, 1935, to Walter and Enid (Bryner) Krug on the family farm near Atkins, Iowa. After graduating from Atkins High School, she attended the Paris Beauty Academy. She was united in marriage to Allan Postel on Dec. 2, 1956, at St. Stephens Lutheran Church, Atkins, Iowa. Later in life, Elaine graduated from Kirkwood Community College and worked at CedRel Supper Club for 33 years. She was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church.
Elaine was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed cooking and gardening. She loved traveling with her family and going to Iowa football games with her husband.
She is survived by her husband, Allan; her children Cindy (Cynthia) of San Diego, and Mark of Cedar Rapids; two sisters, Mary (Krug) Wilson of Atkins and Margaret (Krug) Palen of Salem, Ore.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Thomas Postel.
