DAVID HARRY WILSON
Manchester
David H. Wilson was born April 23, 1925, to Frank and Gertrude Wilson in Manchester, Iowa. He graduated from Manchester High School in 1943. Dave served as an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he was assigned to occupational forces in Nagasaki until 1946. In 1947, he married Maureen Dorman of Manchester. In 1948, Dave graduated from the University of Iowa with a bachelor's degree of science in commerce. His career was in the insurance industry. Dave retired as manager of the Maryland Casualty Insurance Co. He died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015, at Calvin Community in Des Moines.
Dave is survived by his wife, Maureen of Urbandale; son, Jerry (Caryl) Wilson of Creve Coeur, Mo., and their children, Lindsey and Andrew; son, Scott (Jeanni) Wilson of Des Moines; and daughter, Nancy (Bob) Kranovich of West Des Moines, and their children, Brandon and Danielle; plus a niece and several nephews.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, at Iles-Westover Chapel in Des Moines, where the family will receive friends one hour before the service. Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Oakland Cemetery in Manchester.
Memorials may be made to Calvin Community, 4210 Hickman Rd., Des Moines, or The Reserve on Walnut Creek in Urbandale.
