Rod Wilson, 63, passed away and went to be with the Lord on Oct. 7, 2018. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at Lutheran Church of Hope, 925 Jordan Creek Pkwy., West Des Moines.
Rod was born March 18, 1955, to Richard and Arleta Wilson in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was a graduate of Kennedy High (1973) and Iowa State University (1977). Rod worked for ISU for many years and loved his Cyclones. He had passion for his family, sports (coach), his bearded collie dogs, farming (vineyard and gardening), Chicago Cubs, and the love of his life, Cathy.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Cathy; parents, Richard and Arleta; brother, Bart (Kelly), daughters, Mindy (Russ) DeVries and Mackenzie (Nick) Tallman; nephew, Tyler (Keturah) Wilson; stepchildren, Antonio (Amanda) Garcia, Nicole (Jacob) Hildebrandt and Michael (Anne) Garcia; and 17 grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Bearded Collie Rescue, Iowa Heart Association or the Iowa State Alumni Association.
