Ellison, Margaret Jane
Margaret Jane Ellison, 84, was called home to be with her lord and savior on Monday, Feb. 1, 2010, at the Anamosa Care Center. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ron Thatcher to officiate. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Goettsch Funeral Home. Internment will be at the Riverside Cemetery.

Surviving are three daughters Donna Merrick of Anamosa, Sheila (Dennis) Wilson of Anamosa, and Sharon (Calvin) Wolfe of Cadiz, Ky.; two sisters, Julia Oliver of Kuttuwa, Ky., and Johnnie (Charlie) Jones of Princeton, Ky.; 12 grandchildren; and many great and great-great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Ellison in 1996; a daughter, Katherine in 1995; a sister, Dorothy Young; a brother, Edward Merrick; a grandson, Mark Wilson; and special cousin, Richard Merrick.
Margaret Ellison was born Sept. 5, 1925, in Cobb, Ky. She was the daughter of Shevie and Mary Oliver Merrick. On Jan. 1, 1944, Margaret and Russell Ellison were united in marriage in Hopkinsville, Ky. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Anamosa, the Ladies VFW Auxiliary and the Anamosa Bowing Hall of Fame.
Margaret was a loving mother, grandma, great grandma, sister and wife. She will be missed dearly by those closest to her.
