Brian Michael White, 49, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of the Alburnett area, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. A Celebration of Life will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 9, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion, where the family will greet friends. To honor Brian, please dress casually. Private family inurnment will take place at Lafayette Cemetery, Alburnett, at a later date.
Brian was born May 19, 1968, in California, the son of James White and Kay Donohue. He graduated from Alburnett High School in 1986. Following high school, Brian worked in the construction industry and then as a sales associate at McGrath Motorsports for many years. His McGrath family of co-workers was a sense of great pride and joy to him. Brian enjoyed martial arts and had earned a second degree black belt in Wing Chun Kung Fu.
He is survived by his daughter, Taylor Wilson-White, and son, Nicholas Wilson-White, both of Cedar Rapids; father, Jim White; mother, Kay Donohue; brothers, Ken (Deb) White, Mark White and Andrew (Michelle) White; stepbrother, Charlie (Courtney) Donohue; stepsister, Meghan (Dustin) Riden; nieces and nephews; and many cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to his children, Taylor and Nic.
