James Leo "Jimbo" Schutzman, 82, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2020, at home in Shellsburg surrounded by loved ones. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to noon Friday, Feb. 12, at Oak Grove Christian Church in Shellsburg. A Celebration of Life service will be held at noon at the church with Pastor Matt Magee officiating.
Jim was born Feb. 12, 1938, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Hiram and Elizabeth (Rehmiller) Schutzman. He worked at Farmstead Foods in Cedar Rapids and most recently at Wildcat Golf Course. Jimbo enjoyed spending time at the Vinton Family Restaurant, spending time outdoors, and spending time with friends at Pearl Street Social Club, where he played many years in pool and pepper leagues. He enjoyed attending races at the Vinton Speedway with his daughter and grandson. He was a longtime member of Oak Grove Christian Church in Shellsburg. His sobriety was very important to him.
He is survived by his children, Tami Sue Randall of Utah, Christina Schutzman of Cedar Rapids, Brad Schutzman of Hiawatha, Jody Schutzman of Cedar Rapids and Deborah Schutzman of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren, Cameron Hughes, Donte Boleyn, Donnie Schutzman and Calynne Munn; and two sisters, Marilyn Kennedy and Lillian McConnell, both of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kelly Hughes; son, Brian; two grandchildren; four brothers; and one sister.
