Wayne K. Wilson, 70, of Marion, passed away Thursday, Aug. 24, 2017. A Celebration of Life will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 27, at American Legion Post 298 in Marion. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Becky, of Marion; sons, Scott (Karen) Wilson of Cedar Rapids and Brad (Tara) Wilson of Metamora, Ill.; grandchildren, Keenan (Theresa), Bailey, Lexi, Ethan, Sydney, Kennedy and Noah; great-granddaughter, Emersyn; siblings, Delbert Wilson, Harry (Doris) Wilson, Bill (Janet) Wilson and Mary (Jere) Vyverberg; sisters-in-law, Barb (Chris) Nagel and Beth (Dan) Taylor; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lyle; and sister, Elaine.
Wayne was born April 1, 1947, in Oelwein, Iowa, the son of Kenneth and Edith (Miller) Wilson. He graduated from Oelwein High School in 1965. On July 6, 1968, in Oelwein, Wayne was united in marriage to Rebecca Jo Kisner. For 36 years, he worked for Western Electric, AT & T and Lucent Tech. He then was a school bus driver for Ankeny schools until retiring in 2005.
Wayne loved following his boys and grandkids with their school activities. He was a people person with the ability to talk to anyone. Wayne enjoyed doing puzzles and gambling with friends.
