Crawford, Robert P.
Robert P. Crawford, 86, of Iowa City, died Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010, at Mercy Hospice. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Michael Lynch officiating. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the church. A memorial fund has been established.
Robert was born Sept. 4, 1923, in Iowa City, the son of Harold and Ella Mae Crawford. He had been employed from 1945 to 1985 in the dietary department at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene and a proud supporter of Disabled Veterans.
Robert loved the Lord with all his heart and soul.
Survivors include four siblings, Delores and Betty Crawford, both of Iowa City, Duane of North Liberty, and Dorothy (John) McFarland of Orlando, Fla.; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings, Richard, Ronnie, Russell, Donnie and Arlene.
