Marilyn Robinson Baudler, 82, passed away peacefully with her niece, Shawn Robinson, by her side at Park Ridge Rehabilitation Center in Pleasant Hill, Iowa, on Oct. 15, 2017.
Marilyn was born the 11th of 12 children to Earl and Florence (Gerard) Robinson on
a farm near Victor, Iowa, on July 19, 1935. She graduated from high school in Norway, Iowa. Marilyn went on to marry Gerald Stallman on Aug. 25, 1954. They later divorced and he preceded her in death. She later married Pete Baudler, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by her five children, Lynette Scheetz (Tom) of Oxford, Iowa, Randy Stallman (Rhonda) of Shellsburg, Iowa, Kay Baskerville (Rick) of Palo, Iowa, Janine "Jan" Stallman of Sterling, Va., and Gerilyn Stallman (Paul) of Glen Carbon, Ill.; her brother, Cloyd "Robby" (Shirlene) Robinson of Cedar Rapids; a sister-in-law, Jeanette Robinson of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren (one grandchild, Kristopher Stallman, preceded her in death); great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and one goddaughter, Tanya Robinson Sain.
After graduation, Marilyn worked for the telephone company in Cedar Rapids. She then became a homemaker, raising her five children in Fairfax, Iowa, before relocating to Cedar Rapids and then on to Des Moines, Iowa. There she enjoyed working for many years at several different hospitals as a receptionist.
In her spare time, she enjoyed bowling, dancing, traveling, country music and antique shopping. In her later years, her caregiver, Brad Enloe, helped her enormously, holding a special place in her heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers, Harold, Glen, Eugene, Merl, Loyal, Carol and Gary; and three sisters, Eunice, Lucille and Avis.
Marilyn's family and friends would like to thank Parkridge Care Initiatives, Care Initiatives Hospice, Hamilton Funeral Home in Des Moines and Brosh Funeral Service in Norway.
The family will hold a graveside service at Oak Hill Cemetery in Norway, with Pastor Crystal Oberheu officiating. Inurnment of her cremated remains will be at 12:30 p.m. Oct. 28. A small luncheon will be held following the service at Norway Park Pavilion. In the event of inclement weather, the luncheon will be held in the basement of the Norway Methodist Church.
She will be missed very much!
