Lahue, Dorothy M.
Dorothy M. Lahue, 73, of Faribault, Minn., died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2011, at the Heritage House Elder Care, following a brief illness. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5, at the Phillips Funeral Home, Blairstown, Iowa. Burial will be held at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Blairstown. Visitation will be held one half-hour before services Wednesday at the funeral home. Minnesota arrangements are being completed by the Parker Kohl Funeral Home of Faribault.
Dorothy Mae Vargason, the daughter of Samuel and Dorothy (Birch) Vargason, was born on July 4, 1937. in Hazelton, Iowa. She attended Blairstown High School and graduated with the class of 1956. On April 12, 1958, Dorothy was united in marriage to Ralph Plotz at the St. John's Catholic Church in Iowa, and were later divorced. She worked as a cook at C.J.'s Restaurant for a few years and also at the Regional Center in Faribault. On Oct. 10, 1975, she was united in marriage to Francis Lahue, they were later divorced. Dorothy enjoyed cooking, fishing, writing poetry and most of all spending quality time with her family.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Tim Plotz of Faribault, Kelli (Kelly) Plotz of Rochester, Minn., Dusti (Duane) Kaderlik of Faribault, and Misti (Marvin) Dienst Olson of Darwin, Minn.; her grandchildren, Melissa Schema, Blake Dienst, Brandon Plotz, Travis Plotz and Samantha Plotz; her great-granddaughter, Melia Schema; her sisters, Violet (Dick) Oberreuter and Jan (John) Meyer, both of Iowa; her brother Kenneth (Jane) Vargason of Iowa; and other relatives and friends.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents.
