Fish, Nina Bernice Ludden
Nina Bernice Ludden Fish, 89, of Hiawatha, formerly of Shellsburg, died Tuesday, August 24, 2010, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 28, 2010, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 E. Sixth St., Vinton, with Pastor Loel Fink and the Rev. Richard Ludden officiating. Interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday.
A memorial fund has been established.
Nina was born Sept. 2, 1920, at Vinton, to Leon and Luella (Swaim) Ludden. On June 22, 1940, she was united in marriage to Orville Fish. The couple recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.
Nina was employed as a matron at the Benton County Home for several years. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Cedar Rapids. She was proud of her family and devoted her life to them as wife, mother and homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Orville Fish of Hiawatha; her daughters, Donna (Gary) Lindsey of Vinton, and Marianna (David) Nichols of Cedar Rapids; her sons, Ron (Connie) Fish of Shellsburg; nine grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; her brother, Richard (Eva) Ludden of Lakeland, Fla.; and two sisters, Lois Trull of Lake Havasu, Ariz., and Doris Haines of Muncie, Ind.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and four sisters.
