Ruth Ann Carpenter passed away March 29, 2016, in Antioch, Calif., after a long illness.
She was born in Iowa City, Iowa, on Nov. 16, 1942, to Dean and Verna Carpenter. Ruth Ann retired in 2008 after a lifelong career as a music and elementary school teacher.
Ruth Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Dean in 1998 and Verna in 1999.
She leaves her sister, Paulette (with Val); brother, Ted (with Kay); brother, Kevin (with Leland); her niece, Carrie Ann Carpenter; and the thousands of students she taught over the years, to cherish their memories of this remarkable woman.
There will be no local memorial services.
