Dorothy M. Miller, 86, died Friday, Jan. 23, 2015, at the Good Neighbor Home, Manchester, following an extended illness. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, at Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello,
with interment in the Hopkinton Cemetery. Friends may call after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Surviving are five children, James (Joy Meyers) Miller, Hephzibah, Ga., Marlene (Pete) Kasberg, Prairie Du Sac, Wis., Regina (Wally) Capper, Black River Falls, Wis., Randy (Vicki) Miller, Monticello, and Lonnie Miller, Manchester.
She was preceded in death her parents; her husband, Harry; a son, Virgil, at age 1; a grandson, Jayson; her sister, Annabelle, at age 5; and a daughter-in-law, Chong.
Dorothy M. Parsons was born June 8, 1928, in Sand Springs, Iowa, the daughter of James W. and Nellie Gertrude Sickels Parsons. Dorothy attended school in Hopkinton. Dorothy Parsons and Harry G. Miller were married Dec. 27, 1945, in Anamosa. The couple farmed west of Monticello and later near Coggon. In 1953, they moved to a farm near Delaware, Iowa.
Harry preceded her in death Dec. 18, 1995. Dorothy then helped take care of several people in their homes. Dorothy always loved to make a big garden and then can all her produce. She was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Delaware.
