Dorothy Ehrisman, 90, of Monticello, died Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2015, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, following an extended illness. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 25, at Sacred Heart Catholic
Church, Monticello, with interment in Oakwood Cemetery. The Rev. Paul Baldwin will officiate at the services. Friends may call from 9:30 until 11 a.m. Friday at the church. Dorothy's family has entrusted her care and services to Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello.

Surviving are seven children, Kenneth (special friend Amber), Stark, Fla., Dean (Penny) and Don (Cindy), both of Monticello, Ronald (Deb), Ocala, Fla., Marjorie (Steve) Shadwick, Paisley, Fla., Gary (Julie) and Larry (Sue), and a daughter-in-law, Joyce, all of Monticello; her brother, Steve Holub; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Ehrisman and Arlene Holub; 17 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren and one on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James; her son, Steve; two brothers, Lester and Bob Holub; and a sister, Laura Thuman.
Dorothy Martha Holub was born Nov. 25, 1924, in Prairieburg, Iowa, the daughter of Albert and Elizabeth Holub Holub. Dorothy attended the rural Jones County school at Cass Center near Anamosa. Dorothy worked at Anamosa Produce and Bailys Milk Bar.
Dorothy M. Holub and James H. Ehrisman were married Jan. 5, 1948, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Prairieburg. The couple farmed in Castle Grove Township and near Langworthy. Dorothy worked at the A&W in Monticello, Hollywood Inn and Dairy Mart. She also did some babysitting. They retired from farming in 1971 and moved to Monticello in 1973.
Dorothy enjoyed doing crafts, building and decorating bird houses and flower vases. She loved Chinese food and fish dinners, her trips to Wal-Mart and playing her scratch bingo tickets. She also used to yodel for her grandchildren.
