Ervin Santana (2002) pitched a four-hitter for his second complete game against the Blue Jays this season and Mike Napoli (2002) hit a home run to lead the Los Angeles Angels to an 8-3 victory.
"I gave up those three solo home runs, but I just kept focusing on the next hitter," Santana said. "We got a lot of runs, so that's the good thing. That made me work faster. I'm not going to throw a complete game all the time, but I just try to go as far as I can for as long as I can."
Santana (4-3) finished with 10 strikeouts, one off his career high, after his teammate built a 5-0 cushion. "He's pitched two games terrific games against a deep offensive club like Toronto, which is encouraging," manager Mike Scioscia said. "Anytime you can get a complete game or get deep into a game, it's a benefit for your whole staff."
Napoli finished 2-3 with the HR at the plate adding a RBI and two run scored. Erick Aybar (2003) was 2-4 with a double, two RBI and a run scored and Howard Kendrick (2004) went 2-5 with a double, a RBI and a run scored.
Sean Rodriguez (2005) was 0-1 in the Rays 2-0 loss to the Red Sox.
Darren O'Day (2006) blew a save allowing a run in an inning of work but picked up the win as the Rangers rallied for a 8-7 victory over the Royals.
Alberto Callaspo (2003) went 0-4 with a RBI in the Royals 8-7 loss to the Rangers.
Casey Kotchman (2002) was 0-4 in the Mariners 5-3 win over the Tigers.
David Herndon (2007) allowed one run in two innings of work in the Phillies 8-0 loss to the Mets.
Bengie Molina (1995) was 0-4 in the Giants 4-2 win over the Nationals.
