Joan Louise Robinson-Fandel, 87, died peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2014, at Jones Regional Medical Center in Anamosa. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 26, at Mechanicsville Presbyterian Church, with Pastor Barbara Krueger officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Mechanicsville. A private family visitation will be Thursday.

Louise was born Dec. 20, 1926, at home in Mechanicsville. She was the second daughter born to Robert and Lavina Shrope Kramer. In September 1948, Louise was united in marriage to Calvin I. Robinson. They later divorced. In September 2005, she was united in marriage to Ralph Fandel Jr. He has preceded her in death.
Louise worked for Western Union, the Stanwood Trust and Savings Bank, Gibeaut Insurance, Marion Trust and Savings Bank, Fandel Electric and the Klopp Hearing Aid Center. She loved her home, working with her flowers, and took great pride in her farm, especially her barn, and loved her dog "Minnie."
Louise is survived by her daughter, Amanda Robinson-Foust (Dennis) of Belle Fourche, S.D.; her son, Adam Robinson (Susan) of Mechanicsville; and three grandchildren, Sarah Downing (Dan) of Kieler, Wis., Dan Robinson of Mechanicsville and McKayla Foust of Belle Fourche, S.D.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Lavina Kramer; sister, Mary Kramer; and her husband, Ralph Fandel Jr.
