Bush to visit Iowa City during three-day campaign swing

Dec. 28, 2015 3:00 pm
CEDAR RAPIDS - Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush will make a stop in Iowa City as part of a three-day campaign swing through Iowa Jan. 11-13.
It will be the 12th visit for Bush, who is seeking the 2016 GOP presidential nomination. In addition to Iowa City, a campaign aide said he will visit Grinnell, Des Moines and Ankeny. No details of his events have been announced.
Bush is in fifth place in the RealClearPolitics.com poll average at 4.8 percent behind Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, businessman Donald Trump, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson.
Bush, who is trying to build on what was seen as a strong performance in the last Republican debate, was on the Jan Mickelson Show on WHO-AM Monday. He was critical of Trump's admiration of Russian President Vladimir Putin and discussed his record of cutting spending and the size of government during his two terms as governor.
