Harold "Harry" Lynn Wood, 63, of McGregor, passed away Friday, Sept. 1, 2017, at his home. Visitation: 4:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 4, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Central City. Memorial services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, at the funeral home. Family will greet friends one hour before the service at the funeral home on Tuesday. Burial: Mount Clark Cemetery, Central City.
Harold is survived by his wife, Cho Sun Wood of McGregor; son, Rick (Michelle) Wood of Anamosa; sisters, Wanda (Orland Frieden) Kremer of Central City and Darla (Jeff) Colehour of Stone City; sisters-in-law, Jan Wood and Kay Wood; friend of the family, Ruth Wood; a brother-in-law; a sister-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Jim Wright; brothers, Wayne and Tom; and a brother-in-law.
Harold was born July 4, 1954, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Harold "Huck" and Leila (Wright) Wood. He was raised by his mother and stepfather, Jim Wright. On Oct. 28, 1975, in Seoul, South Korea, he was united in marriage to Chong Sun Cho. Harold proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1972 to 1978. He worked as a correctional security manager for the state of Iowa until retiring in 2006. Harold was a member of American Legion Post 267 and AMVETS Post 108.
