Pitlik, Faye Elizabeth Light
Faye Elizabeth Light Pitlik, 86, of Mount Vernon, died Friday, Jan. 28, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Mount Vernon, by the Rev. Rod Allers. Faye's viewing and visitation will be today from 4 until 7 p.m. at Morgan Funeral and Cremation Choices, Mount Vernon, where the rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Faye will be buried in the church cemetery, Lisbon.
Faye is survived by three sons: Martin (LuAnn), Rockwall, Texas, and their children, Laura Pitlik and Steve (Kate), both of Dallas, Texas; Roger, and his children, Andrew, Mount Vernon, and Amy Pitlik, Denver, Coloo.; and Jeff (Royce), Anamosa; sisters, Helen (Vernon) Burge and Dorothy Dvorak Mullaley, both of Mount Vernon; sister-in-law, Martha Light Serbousek; and brother-in-law, Francis (Jean) Pitlik.
Preceding Faye in death were her husband, Joseph “Jack”; parents, Roy Light and Grace Light Morningstar; her brother, Ralph Light; and a daughter-in-law, Gayla Deskin Pitlik.
Faye was born May 21, 1924, in Lisbon, and graduated from Lisbon High School. She married Jack Pitlik on April 26, 1944, in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Lisbon. He died Dec. 30, 2001. Faye and Jack farmed south of Mount Vernon and raised three children. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Mount Vernon.
