Barbara Pierce, 78, of Marion, died Monday, Feb. 24, 2014, at St. Luke's Hospital. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Burial will be held at Linwood Cemetery.
Barbara was born May 11, 1935, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Lawrence and Mildred (Leone) Randall. Barbara married James Pierce on June 16, 1951, in Cedar Rapids. She enjoyed going to the casinos, her computer, Facebook games and painting. But she especially loved time spent with her family.
She is survived by three sons, Danny (Melissa), Chuck (Patricia) and Randy (Sue) Pierce; three daughters, Roxanne (Paul) Rundle, Dawn Pierce and Peggy (Gordan) Barger; two brothers, Raymond and Ronald Randall; and two sisters, Janice Bentley and Patricia Randall.
Also surviving are several loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Pierce; daughter, Rhoda Pierce; two sons, Michael and Rodney; and siblings, infant sister Bernice, Lawrence, Jerald, Harry and Donald Randall and Betty McGrew.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
The family would like to thank all the nurses, doctors and staff at St. Luke's Hospital, for all of their hard work, support and tender care given to Barbara.
