Kobusch, William Delbert
William Delbert Kobusch, 78, formerly of 2418 Franklin Ave. NE, died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009, at Bickford Cottage, Marion, from a long illness. Services: 9:30 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, by the Rev. Christopher Podhajsky, with military services by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 788. Burial: Mount Calvary Cemetery. A vigil service will be at 6 tonight at Teahen Funeral Home, where friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Friends may also visit after 8:30 a.m. Friday at the church.
William is survived by a sister, Janice Boots of Vinton; a brother, LaVerne (Shirley) Kobusch of Mims, Fla.; and eleven nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Kobusch; and brother-in-law, Frederick Boots.
William was born July 31, 1931, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Herman and M. Pearl Carney Kobusch. William retired after 39 years from the Penick and Ford Co. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean conflict and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 788.
