Lois B. Fisher, 97, previously of Mount Vernon, passed away Friday, March 24, 2017, at Hallmark Care Center in Mount Vernon.
Her funeral service will be held at Lahey Funeral & Cremation Services in Olin on Wednesday, March 29, at 10:30 a.m. A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Olin Cemetery, Olin.
Lois Berdena was born April 1, 1919, to Louis M. and Margaret (Rohwedder) Lorenzen in Olin, Iowa. She graduated from Olin High School.
She married Delbert Fisher on Dec. 4, 1938. They farmed near Olin all their lives and later moved to Mount Vernon. She was a member of Olin Community Methodist Church.
She was a wonderful seamstress and enjoyed dancing, traveling, photography, reading and crocheting.
Those left to cherish her memories are her three daughters, Connie (Jim) Goldsberry of Solon, Becky (Al) Ahrens of Mount Vernon and Kathy (Jim) Schumacher of Fairfax; seven grandchildren, Kelly (Mike) Cheney, Ty (Kristen) Goldsberry, Sandi (Tony) DeSouza, Brian (Karen) Ahrens, Brenda (Darin) Boots, Angi (Corey) McKie and Brandon (Adele) Schumacher; and 12 great-grandchildren, Alyssa Cheney (Jake Stratton), Andrew Cheney, Kaylee (Travis) Lenz, Shae Goldsberry, Grant Goldsberry, Emily Ahrens, Tyler Ahrens, Bella Boots, Zoey Boots, Collin McKie, Sam McKie and Gabe McKie.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one sister, Helen; and two brothers, Virtus and Grover.
The family of Lois would like to give a special thank- you to the staff at Hallmark Care Center for taking great care of her for over 10 years.
Memorials may be given in Lois' honor to Olin Community Methodist Church and Essence of Hospice.
