Ruth Ramona Brouse, 83, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016, at West Ridge Care Center. Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mark's United Methodist Church by Pastor Bonnie Koeppen. Burial: Linwood Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at Teahen Funeral Home and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Ruth was born on Oct. 11, 1932, in Martin County, Minn., the daughter of Chase and Myrtle Leupold Brouse. She attended Coe College and graduated from St. Luke's School of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse at St. Luke's Hospital and various care centers.
Survivors include three sons, Paul (Joanne) Rammelsberg, John Rammelsberg and Andy Rammelsberg, all of Cedar Rapids; her daughter, Celeste (Tony) Bour of Eagan, Minn.; seven grandchildren, Kyle (Laura), Ashley, Matt, Devin, Rachael, Shannon and Alex; two great-grandchildren; her sister, Carol Hadlund of Bloomington, Minn.; and her brother, Vernon (Joanne) Brouse of Albany, N.Y.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Alvin Brouse; and her brother-in-law, Ralph Hadlund.
Ruth loved being with her family and friends. She was involved in craft clubs, singles clubs and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed listening to music, sewing, quilting and tending to her flower garden.
