M. Roy Martin, 88, of Mount Vernon, died Monday, August 31, 2009 in Hallmark Care and Rehabilitation Center, Mount Vernon. Funeral service will be held Thursday Sept. 3 at 10:30 a.m., at Morgan Funeral and Cremation Choices, Mount Vernon Chapel, with Masonic rites. The family will greet friends, Thursday from 9:30 until service time at the chapel. Burial will be at Mount Vernon Memorial Cemetery, with military rites.
Roy is survived by his wife, Pearl; a daughter, Sue Votroubek, Tiffin; son, Roger (Karen), Mount Vernon. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson; three brothers, Oliver, Bull Head City, Ariz, Leland and William, both of Cedar Rapids; and sister, Joyce Blair, Cedar Rapids.
