Robert W. Marsh, 91, of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2017. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 30, at
Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Funeral services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 31, at the funeral home. The Rev.
Diane Townsley will officiate. Inurnment will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, at a later date.
Robert was born Feb. 15, 1926, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Floyd and Lorraine (Cooley) Marsh. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Robert married Dorothy Dorman in San Francisco, Calif., on
April 22, 1945. He worked at Ilten's Inc. in management until he retired in 1988.
Robert was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and American Legion Post 298 in Marion. He enjoyed traveling, but when he was home, he was a master at making homemade bread. Robert also enjoyed playing cards and getting together with the neighborhood card club.
Robert is survived by his wife, Dorothy; children, Beverly (Elwood) Moser of Marion, Susan (Todd McCaughey) Doucette of Cedar Rapids and Kathryn Marsh of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Amber (Russ) Wasendorf Jr., Rion (Shari) Schwarz, Sara (Tim) Holt, Avery Coen, Robert Doucette, Rebecca (Ken) Caldwell, Dayna (Cory) Grantham, Sonya Hepker, Aaron Hepker, Debbie (Phil) Vaughn and Francis (Merri) Moser; great-grandchildren, Zac, Dylan, Roman, Erik, Jagger, Audrey, Ellesyn, Rhianna, Logan, MacKenzie, Emma, Cole, Adam, Whitney, Hunter and Kolton; sisters-in-law, Shirley Hooker and Elda Dorman; and brother-in-law, Harold (Joyce) Dorman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Shirley Lovelett; and brother-in-law, Robert Lovelett.
